DAY 137 Stockholm Pride Parade

Aug 3 - Gay Pride Week is 17 years old

Stockholm Pride is an annual gay pride festival held in Stockholm.  Since the start in 1998, Stockholm Pride has grown. This year, about 60,000 participated and 600,000 followed the parade at the streets.  We were one of those numbers as we happened to be touring the city with our host, Linne, at the time.  Previous to this culminating event, there were seminars, workshops, debates, exhibitions, etc. throughout the whole city during the past week.
We started with a stroll through one of the harbours.

We had a picnic together

Linne is such a good tour guide

Male or female??

We couldn't see the beginning of the parade very well - there were thousands of people in the street.  I haven't seen anything quite like it.

We went down the street and found a place a little closer to "the action."  I think I got some pretty good photos of all the people who support gay rights and all the interesting costumes and people who marched in the parade...people of ALL ages.

The Pink Lady -great costume
He turned and gave me a great big pose.

Even the super heroes were there.

Many groups in the community supports Gay Rights and came out to be in the parade.

There is even a group of Gay Police marching for the cause.

.
VERY narrow street

Guess we've just worn him out today.

"I don't know how these guys hold this up - and for years!"

Looks like it's another evening for Kung Pao Chicken that we make for our host.
