DAY 146 - Surfin' Next to Lake Siljan

Aug 12 - Last Day in Rättvik with a New Host
We had another host who wanted us to surf at her house, so we decided to go there for our last night in  Rattivk.  What a sweet girl Ilenna was meeting us at the church and walking us to her parent's home near the lake.  We were her first surfers.
 Another tour around the church

Through the churchyard we go following Ilenna.

Gravestone dating from early 1500's
We went past the Church Stables that Ilenna used to play around while a young girl.  I wonder if any of my relatives used to play here as well when they were children.

Over the bridge we go to her house

Such a beautiful walk - I'd love to live here.
What a great picture window they have overlooking Lake Siljan.  Ilenna likes to swim in the lake nearly every evening.
I didn't get a photo of our "couch", but here is a picture of her lovely living room.
We had our own very spacious bedroom downstairs.  She and her parents had a very nice home and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves for only one evening.

Roasted sausage with onions and apples
Ilenna made the best dinner.  She is a great cook. Rich helped her make this - easy and so good with apples.

She added salad and another dish, but I can't remember what it is.  what do you think it is?

These were so good!

Her dessert was the BEST!  "Kaka"
It was similar to something my mom used to call "Dream Bars".  It had a crust with chocolate in the middle and the top layer had whipped cream and coconut.  Can't wait to try it at home.

We all decided to go on a walk.  When we heard the church bells chiming, Ilenna and I decided to attend the evening prayer service.  It only lasted 20 minutes, and the music was so nice.
The pianist was so good.  I met her afterwards.  Ilenna is on the left.

We looked for my relative's graves, but no such luck.

I got the name of the lady who has the records, so I'll email her for information.

A look at yet another church stable.

These have been vacant for years.
Such a beautiful evening for our last stroll in Rattvik, Sweden.
We're off to Oslo, Norway tomorrow.  So much to see there and such a nice tour guide/host we'll have.
