Update for April 9th: Finally - we made it!

The ferry that was supposed to take 20 hours took 50 hours.  It was late in picking us up in Rhodos.  We didn't leave until 5 a.m . and then there was a storm in the seas, so we docked in Crete for 19 hours.  It would have been okay if we could get off to see the island of Crete, but they wouldn't let us.  Finally, after enough complaints and when the port authorities realized we were going to be there for awhile, they let us have a pass to get out and we took a walk around town.  So now we're in Santorini and it's like a fairy land.  It's  unbelievable and hard to describe.  Stay tuned to get the details later.
