UPDATE: Where Do You Go After Europe? (Part 1)

October & November - Denver, Idaho Falls, and ...??
After arriving home from our L-O-N-G European adventures, 5 out of my 6 children came to town with their families and we were able to catch up after having been gone since March.  We had gone to Denver before that to see the 6th family, so we had seen all 12 grand children.

Elianna enjoys a visit with my sister, Carolyn at her house.

Danae & I have fun with Eli

Carolyn has a cool old school desk for Eli to pose with.

Love these kids - ages 10, 7, and 2

Hailey is getting all grown up.

#3 daughter and family

While in Denver, I meet up with my Uncle Pinky and my two cousins as well as my brother and sister.  We go out to lunch in Golden and have a great time!

Back to Idaho we go for another reunion with the other 9 grandkids.
These 3 are having a ball.

Toby is planning a difficult obstacle course race. (2 of his 3 girls look on)

The troups are having fun, but Rich is cold!!
Up to their dad's house we go to have dinner and to celebrate with all the souvenirs we brought back for them.
The newest grandchild that I've only seen a couple of times.  She is 18 months old now.

Eliza is not sure if she should smile or not.

Krisalyn's boys are all boys.  Ages 15, 10, 5

Toby is our only son, so he's hanging out with Carlene's husband, Sam.

Our sweet daughter-in-law with #2 daughter, Zaylia.

3 generation photo, but Eliza is still not smiling.

Janelle's daughter, Kaitlynn is all smiles about her awesome carved pumpkin.

Don't forget to save the pumpkin seeds - they are the best when roasted.
These two are inseparable.

Janelle's other child, age 3 1/2 really likes his Grandma.
.
...and Madison likes his toys.

"Oh boy, Grandma...thanks for the gifts from Europe."

Donovan, Krisalyn's youngest, would rather jump on the trampoline.

"Time to eat everyone.!"

Our youngest, Arianne, would just rather sit and wait to be waited on.  j/k  No children (YET!)

All the grandkids jump in Grandpa's hot tub.  Fun for all!

Janelle's kids say one last good-bye to Grandma..."You're leaving AGAIN!"
Now for some work on our home in Woodville.   We needed to close up the house for the winter since we won't be coming back until spring.

We came home to LOTS of weeds!
Lots of mowing and pulling to get ready for next Spring's planting

It's easier to just burn them instead of making mulch.

Hope we can get a room or two ready to live in when we return in the spring.
Oct. 27th was a day I won't forget.  I was biking to a friend's house for lunch.  I saw a couple people in my neighborhood jumping on pogo sticks and the next thing I knew I was in an ambulance.  No one knows what happened, but I somehow blacked out, fainted, or was hit.  I went to ICU for a day and night, and stayed another night in the hospital.  I had 15 staples in my head (I wasn't wearing a helmet), bruises and cuts in several places, and bruised ribs.  (It's taken two months to heal, but I'm feeling almost 100% now).
Don't look too careful, or you'll see a bloody bunch of hair on the right side.

Janelle and Madison come to visit.

Luckily they didn't have to shave my head.
We were staying in Eileen's basement, so I could easily recover with Rich's and her help.

Eileen is off to a Halloween party as a 60's hippie.
We took off for Baja, Mexico on November 17th, even though my family and the doctor thought it would be better to stay and recover a little more.  Luckily we were flying, so it only took about 6 hours, but then we had another 5 hours (with a taxi, bus, and car ride) to get to our place outside La Ventana, the kite-surfing capital of the world.
Rich is handling all the luggage at this point.
Since we've been here, we've enjoyed many happenings already (besides the holidays.)  Tom and Sara have come to stay with us to help build, take care of plants, or whatever Rich has for them.  They are from Rhode Island and have been great helpers.  I cook for all of us and do their laundry.
Poor Sail the Quail died, so Sara buries him.

Such a sad day - the quail around here are so cute!

These red snapper are cute, too, but YUM...they are good eatin.'  Meet Tom!

Meet Loky, the Locust - he was sleeping under a rock, but we woke him up.

Then there is the rattler we found in the grocery parking lot in La Paz.

We love the sidewalk taco shops in La Paz - only about $1 for a fish taco and all the trimmings.
Grocery shopping is always very eventful.  There are so many markets and shops and they're all loaded with produce, especially this time of year.  We get a whole van full because we only go twice a month.
Jicama is GREAT!

Jamaica is dried Hibiscus flowers and makes fantastic tea!

Rich LOVES to shop!  Shari does not!
Three older baggers wait their turn to help.

Either the elderly do the bagging of your groceries or the young kids do (ages 10 -14).  They all expect a tip, of course.

Thanksgiving Day we were invited to Bud & Vel's house.  We had the whole traditional turkey dinner with dressing and pies.  YUM!

Bud & Vel sure resemble Mr. & Mrs. Santa Claus...mmm!

Colorado Ken, BC Ken & Denise, Tall Ken, and Bud

All the girls....Vel is on the far right - she is the cook and this is her house.

Our Thanksgiving 2013 portrait.

The sunrises and sunsets in Baja are the BEST!  I captured a couple of good shots the other morning as I always wake up early to stretch.  We have the greatest view with Cerralvo Island in the background.

Christmas 2013 photos are up in the next post and all the special happenings.
