DAYS 118 & 119 – Prague's Beautiful Architecture

July 15 &16 - So much History

We enjoyed a "down day" as we stayed at home, did laundry, worked on the computer, and took a short grocery walk.  When Odile got home from work, we fixed dinner...a Taco Salad.

Rich made his in the shape of a sunflower - very creative, don't you think?
We watched a Czech movie called "The Revolution."  It had English subtitles and was so very good.  It was based on the true story of the Revolution.  I liked it so much that Odile gave me her DVD, saying she could always buy another country - so sweet!

The next day we went all around Prague discovering as much as we could discover on our own.  Mostly it was the vast amount of different architecture and much of it was VERY old.

Let's meet at the St. James Bridge

The Jewish church in Prague -it's come a long way in 69 years.

The oldest astronomical clock in the world that still works every hour on the hour.  All the little characters come out and go around and all the tourists come for the 15 second show.

A MAD Petruska doll advocating Communism - pretty funny!

This guy earned a lot of $$ on the streets playing the crystal glasses filled with water.  It was amazing!  He sold DVD's afterwards and I was tempted to buy one.  We did video him, though.

He came up after his performance and gave me a big hug...just out of the blue!
We met Odile for dinner and continued touring the city afterwards.  We watched this young couple as the waiter brought by a big platter of raw ground beef.  They took the beef and stirred in ketchup, salt and pepper and proceeded to just eat it raw.  YUK - ick - bleh!

Odile had a big cheeseburger

Rich had some sausages in a tomato BBQ sauce

I had chicken in a cream hollandaise type dipping sauce.

Most European men have MANY tattoos - the more the better, I guess.
Inside another church we went - very ornate and just spectacular!

A character of death in Mozart's "Don Giovanni"

Prague is so pretty at night.  See the mini-Eiffel tower all lit up.

Odile and I are lovin' the moon and the lights in beautiful Prague.
