DAY 11 - Jerash, Jordan Amphitheatre Singing Opera

Such a great experience singing "O Mio Babbino Caro" by Puccini in the Holy Land!  What a neat feeling to be in the "zone" as a singer!

The elusive factor that makes the ancient amphitheater an acoustic marvel is not the slope, or the wind — it’s the seats. The rows of limestone seats form an efficient acoustics filter that hushes low-frequency background noises like the murmur of a crowd and reflects the high-frequency noises of the performers on stage off the seats and back toward the seated audience member, carrying an actor’s voice all the way to the back rows of the theater.

Roman theatres derive their basic design from the Theatre of Pompey, the first permanent Roman theatre.  I also got a chance to sing there in 2013 - WOW!  So AMAZING!  It felt like the Heavens opened and took my sound UP UP UP and I had goose bumps up and down my body.

I will always treasure these two experiences - thank you Lord!
